Top Mount Sinks

A top-mounted sink, also known as a drop-in sink or self-rimming sink, is a type of sink that is installed by dropping it into a pre-cut hole in the countertop. The sink's rim sits on top of the counter, providing support and creating a finished appearance. Top-mounted sinks are popular due to their ease of installation and compatibility with a wide range of countertop materials.

Undermount sinks are specifically designed to be installed beneath the countertop, with the sink's rim being attached to the underside of the counter. This creates a seamless look and allows for easy cleaning of the countertop, as debris can be wiped directly into the sink. The design and mounting hardware of an undermount sink are not suited for top-mount installation. However, some sink models are designed to be both top-mounted and undermounted, depending on the desired installation method. It's important to check the manufacturer's specifications before attempting to change the installation type of a sink.
